Frank Barnes, Jr was called home on August 27, 2024. Born May 3, 1942 in Port Gibson, Mississippi. He is survived by daughter Cherrell Byrd; sons LaShawn Byrd; Jerome (Bettina) Byrd; Antwan Byrd; 9 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sister, Mattie L. Barnes; two brothers, Melvin Barnes, Robert (JoAnna) Barnes and many nieces, nephews, and close loved ones. He is preceeded in death by his wife Annette (Susie) Barnes; father Frank Barnes Sr., mother Verla (Warner) Barnes, and step mother Anna Barnes; brother Wendell Barnes; sister-in-law Patty Barnes. Arrangements will be held at Wellman’s Funeral Home on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Viewing will be from 2pm-3pm with services led by Pastor Eric Lewis immediately after the viewing. Frank will be laid to rest in Port Gibson, Mississippi on Tuesday, Sept 3 at 1pm.
