Frank Gans

Frank A. Gans, 87, of Circleville, died June 1, 2008 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1921 in Point Marion, PA., the son of Frank N. and Sudie Elizabeth (Blosser) Gans. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Marie Stewart and Eleanore Young and wife of 53 years Mary Glenn (Myers) Gans who died on July 29, 1995. Frank graduated in 1939 from Weston H.S. in Weston, WV and from Indiana University in 1947. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the South Pacific during WWII, attended First Presbyterian Church and was a former member of Kiwanis. He was past president of Pickaway Chamber of Commerce and Ohio Bankers Association, past board member of United Way, Pickaway Country Club and Brown Memorial Nursing Home. Frank also worked on several projects at Circleville Bible College now Ohio Christian University. Frank was Bank President at First National Bank from 1967 and retired from BancOne in 1986. He is survived by his children Elizabeth (Donn) Lidington of Willard, Frank Robert (Brenda) Gans of Circleville, Mary Margaret (Tim) Bailey of Grove City and Thomas Wade (Cathy) Gans of Circleville; grandchildren Brian Lidington, Raymond, Tim and Nick Bailey, Tiffany (Whitney) Young and Christopher and Monica Gans; great-granddaughter Katrina and special friend Doris Yamrick and her family. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday June 4, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Diane Berger officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park in Pt. Marion, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice.
