Freelin Riggs, Jr

Freelin Riggs, Jr., 91, of Circleville, died January 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1920 in Kenova, WV, the son of Freelin and Cora (Thacker) Riggs, Sr. He was a U.S.Army veteran, member of Crossroads Church, Pickaway Senior Citizens and Teamsters #284. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Michael S. and Larry D. Riggs; brothers, Bill Riggs and Donald Lee and sister, Mary Katherine. He is survived by his wife, Lucile (Grimm) Riggs; son, Robert J. Riggs of Columbus; step-daughters, Bonnie Cella of Nevada and Carleen Mernedakis of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Riggs of Wheelersburg and sister, Gerry Weeks of Portsmouth. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at Crossroads Church 5679 Tarlton Rd. Circleville, OH. Friends may call Wednesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm at the church. Graveside services at 2:00 pm in Concord Cemetery in Grove City. Arrangements were completed by the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
