Garry R. Hopkins, 63, of Laurelville, died August 28, 2013 at home after a brief illness. He was born on October 17, 1949 in Dayton, the son of the late Thomas L. and Norma K. (Woodgeard) Hopkins. Garry had previously worked for Conrail Rail Road and more recently was a self employed contractor until his retirement in 2007. Garry is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Alice (Jordan) Hopkins; his daughter, Angie (Darryl) Winland; his sons, Garry A. (Susie) Hopkins and Andy (Kristi Morehead) Hopkins; step-son, Matthew (Sara) Jordan all of Ohio; his grandchildren, Samantha, Stephanie, Casey, Shane, Hayley, Hannah, Hunter, Amber, Hanna, Gracie, Kaydence, Kennedy, Kane and Kole; great grandchild, Mason; aunt, Iola Sellers of Knoxville, TN and many cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 31, 2013 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Garry requested contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
