Gary “Mike” Sines, age 71 born March 10, 1953 in Circleville, OH to parents Carroll and Jerri (Speakman) Sines.  Left us early on October 8, 2024 surrounded by family.  Mike graduated from Westfall in 1971 with his wife Diane.  They were about to celebrate their 54th Wedding Anniversary on October 31.  Mike retired from John Deere in Columbus after 30 years making life-long friends that remain to this day.  After taking a short time off, he went to work as a part time delivery driver at Transport Specialists, again making more great friends there and at his numerous delivery destinations.

Mike’s love for baseball and kids led him to coach numerous teams throughout his life beginning in 1975 at Monroe School and continuing until he retired from coaching in 1994 after having several Travel Teams such as The Stingers and Grove City Shockers.

Aside from his love of family, he shared a love of the outdoors with his sons, family and friends.  Never missing an opportunity to fish at Lake Erie and Deer Creek.  The Annual Camping Trip to Lake Erie was always the highlight of every summer.  We added new members to our group every year.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Carrol and Jerri Sines; brother Steven Sines father-in-law Bill Dountz; brothers-in-law Norman O’Conner, Steve Caudy, Rex Emrick and John Demjen.  Surviving family is his wife Diane (Dountz) Sines; sons and daughter-in-law Brady M. (Christy), Ryan and Lexie Sines, Jason and Mindy. Grandchildren Ashley and Tyler Holz, Drew Sines and Emmy Wells, Gabrial and Corbit Cartee, Rylie Sines and Blaine Griffiths, Mariah Sines and Liam Wilson, Aubrey, Mya and Ean.  Great grandchildren Ashton, Aiden (A.J. his buddy), Lucy and Macy. Devoted sisters Linda O’Conner, Sherry Caudy, Patty Strait and Lannette Smith.  Mother-in-law Martha Dountz.  Brother-in-laws Raymond Strait and Matt Miller, Donnie Dountz, Mike Dowland and Gary Bryant.  Sister-in-laws Ruth Sines, Becky Emrick, Teresa Demjen, Sue Dowland, Mary Bryant and Halett Dountz.  Many, many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews he adored.

Mike’s passing left a tremendous hole in our family that can never be replaced.  I hope he realized what he meant to so many people in his lifetime and that his legacy will certainly carry on.
