Gene Hartley

Gene R. Hartley, 71, of Stoutsville, died November 20, 2009 at Select Speciality Hospital. He was born October 10, 1938 in Mechanicsburg, the son of Harry and Eileen (Dickson) Hartley. He attended Laurelville Church of God and was a member of Stoutsville Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Hartley. He is the loving husband of Janet K. (Johnston) Hartley of 49 years; loving father of Thomas “Tony” (Karen) Hartley of Circleville and Teresa K. Hartley of Stoutsville and loving grandfather “papaw” to Bailey, Emma and Anne Hartley. Survived by his brothers and sisters, Marilyn (Chester) Yaple and Jim (Phyllis) Hartley of Circleville, William “Bill” (Linda) Hartley of Amanda, Larry (Linda) Hartley of Lancaster, Nancy (Doug) Huffines of SC, Karly (Rick) Duty of Ray and Sharon (Mike) Anderson of Stoutsville; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m Monday November 23, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes or Arthritis Foundation.
