Geneva Campbell Kempton, 85, of Laurelville passed away on January 31, 2016. She was born on March 28, 1930 in Woodson, VA to Clarence Cleming and Margaret (Massie) Campbell. She was employed as a typist at E.I. Dupont for 10 years and Covert Intelligence Corps where she had top security clearance, also worked at Social Security Office, was an organist for Defenbaugh-Wise Funeral Home for 25 years and also Trinity United Methodist Church and Eastern Star for many years, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a big fan of Village Café where she had coffee every afternoon with her best friend Mary Lou Ross and was past grand matron of OES#169. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Twila Lancaster. Geneva is survived by her husband; Donald R. Kempton, Sr., children; Donald R. (Rhonda) Kempton Jr., Pamela (David Wright) Kempton, Lisa Kempton, grandchildren; Ryan, Lindsay (Robert) Snavely, Andrew, great grandchildren; Clayton and Miriam, her brother; Wandal Campbell and by sisters; Olantha Robertson and Dorcas Mallory. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with burial to follow in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Laurelville on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1.
