George William Hannon Jr, 75, of Tucson AZ passed away in Tucson, AZ. George was born in Brooklyn, NY. He was a Veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He received 5 medals during his Military Service: National Defense Service Medal, Expert (MG M-60), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle) & Vietnam Service Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Hannon & George W. Hannon Sr. and his wife Betty A. Hannon. He is survived by his brother Robert Hannon (Leanore), his sisters, Dorothy Durso and Kathleen Gottlieb, children Lisa Miano, Tracey DeMarco, George W. Hannon III and Kathleen Johnson, stepchildren Rick Torchick (Christy), Blair (Lisa) Torchick, and Krista (Jon) Jenkins, 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and by many aunts and uncles. George moved to Tucson with his wife Betty. They both enjoyed the warm weather and lifestyle Tucson had to offer. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, the Masons and served with Betty in the Order of Eastern Stars. George was a very warm and loving person who never said NO when someone needed help. He was always willing to go the extra mile for a friend or stranger. Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Wellman Funeral Home, 16451 St Oh-Rte. 56 East, Laurelville, OH 43135. Visitation from 10 AM to 12 Noon with burial immediately following at Green Summit Cemetery in Adelphi, Ohio. Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
