George Roth

George Douglas Roth, 62, of Seneca, SC, passed away at his residence February 12, 2010. He was born April 6, 1947 in Circleville, the son of the late George Lewis and Louise (Carter) Roth. Over the last 20 years, Doug held executive positions in financial services, where he received several awards for his leadership. In retirement, he served as a volunteer at Oconee Medical Center and was Vice Chairman of the Consumer Credit Council Board of Directors. He served in the U.S. Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran. He was a graduate of Rockhurst College in Kansas City, MO. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Professor Aleda Roth of Clemson University; son, George Brian Roth of New York, NY; daughter, Lauren Carter-Roth Venu and son-in-law, Mason Venu, both of Honolulu, HI. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 24, 2010 at Forest Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
