George Stowers

George Nelson Stowers, 82, of Stoutsville, died October 6, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1928 in Louisville, KY, the son of George and Ruby (Payton) Stowers. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, member of Logan Elm Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and retired from Dupont. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Art Stowers and sister, Edna Stowers. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Miller) Stowers; sons, Dr. Keith Allan (Karen) Stowers of Edgewood, KY and Ricky Nelson (Deborah) Stowers of Stoutsville; grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Shannon, Sean, Lara, Kim, Tess and Kaylee; great grandchild, Kensley; brothers, Pete, Paul, Doug and Gary Stowers and sisters, Dorothy Sandlin, Mary Thomas and Liz Easley. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday October 8, 2010 at Logan Elm Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Moats officiating. Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Pickering House Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, OH 43103.
