Gerald Powers

Gerald John Powers, 82, of Ripley, WV, passed away February 1, 2007 after a long illness. He was born July 6, 1924 in Alpha, MI, the son of Edward and Anna Powers; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen; sisters, Phil and Marie and brothers, Howard and Amos. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Forstron of Quinnesco, MI; sisters, Pat Bjorlc and Geraldine Carlshoof of Crystal Falls, MI; and Alice Borna of Covine, CA. He attended Michigan State University for a short time, majoring in agriculture. He was in the Marines in World War II. He resided in Ohio for several years and in Ripley for the last few years. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 3, 2007 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
