Geraldine Mae (LaCivita) Hill Reed Fawcett, 74, passed away at Court House Manor in Washington Court House surrounded by many who loved her. During her long illness, she received wonderful, loving care at Court House Manor and Carriage Court. Geraldine was born on May 5, 1935 in Hubbard, OH, to Angelo Aloyisus and Florence Rebecca (Kohl) LaCivita. After the death of her mother, her father married Alice W. (Kohl) Pavliska, who was Geri’s aunt. Her step-mother helped to raise their close-knit family with great love. She was a 1954 graduate of The Raven High School in Youngstown, OH and completed continuing education at OSU. Geri was an Administrative Assistant for Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus for 20 years. She enjoyed many part-time jobs over the years-real estate agent, tax preparer, postal worker and bus driver. She met many of her lifelong friends through active participation in her hobbies: bowling, tennis, square dancing, line dancing and sports enthusiast. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in all she did and her fondest memories were those of life “on the farm”. She loved to garden, hunt mushrooms, pick berries, hike, camp, fish, can her garden harvest and bird watch. Geri was a volunteer for Hospice of Pickaway County, Smokey Beat at the State Fair, and FORFAR Field Studies (Capital University) in Andros, Bahamas where her especially close friends, The Riley Family reside. Geri was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wesley Hill, Jr., they by her second husband, Robert T. Reed and finally by her third husband Raymond L. Fawcett, her parents, sister, Elizabeth (Lou) LaCivita Cesene, brother, Frank LaCivita and son, Lawrence Lee Hill. She is survived by her sons, John (Cindy) LaCivita, Joseph (Sonia Carrel) Hill and Michael (Patty) Hill; daughter, Loraine (Gene) Hill DeBruin; step-children, Jeff (Tami) Reed, Bobbi (Dave) Reed Lowry, Bev (Larry) Reed Bolesta, Linda (Brian) Fawcett Culbertson and Michael Fawcett; grandchildren, Sean LaCivita, twins, Allyson Grazt and Ashley Hodge (LaCivita), Luke, Dallas and Grant Debruin, Brittany and Corey Carrel, Brittany, Heather and Levi Hill; great grandchildren, Damjen (Carrel) Karasek and Jaxon Grazt and by many close nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Mass will be 12:00 noon Saturday March 6, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Krile officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday March 8, 2010 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Columbus. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fayette and Pickaway Counties and American Heart Association.
