Gladys Stowers, 90, of Stoutsville passed away on May 19, 2023.  She was born on August 28, 1932 in Litchfield, (Grayson County) Kentucky to Porter and Margie (Williams) Miller. Gladys was a member of Logan Elm Baptist church.  She retired from JC Penney Company and after retirement Gladys began making quilts.  She made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren.  Gladys loved to cook and canned green beans and tomatoes from the garden.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Nelson Stowers ; two brothers and their wives; Randall (Helen) and Ralph (Bernice) Miller and brothers-in-law Don Rucker and Bob Akins..  Gladys is survived by her children Keith (Ann Marie) and Ricky (Deborah) Stowers, siblings Helen June Rucker and Charlene Akins;  grandchildren Brian Stowers, Heather Stowers (Shlomi Zrihan), Sean Stowers (Terri Arlinghaus), Lara Stowers (David Phillips), Kimberly Stowers (Ben Kieffner), Tess Stowers, Shannon Stowers Messer (Joe) and Kaylee Stowers; great grandchildren Byron Zrihan, Autumn and Josie Stowers, Graeme Phillips, Ayla and Clementyne Phillips, Kensley and Payton Messer and Bowen Messer.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Logan Elm Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 2-4 p.m.  On Tuesday, May 30, 2023 there will be a funeral service at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow.  Visitation will be held there from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1.Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
