Glenford “Glen” Mathews, 89, of Circleville, died December 5, 2011 at Berger Hospital. He was born December 16, 1921 in Glouster, the son of Marcellus and Anna (Andrews) Mathews. He had previously worked at Anchor Hocking and was retired from E. I. Dupont, U. S. Coast Guard veteran, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was one of 3 founding members of Tarlton Volunteer Fire Dept. and a avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Rayburn and good friends, Donald & Josephine Hardman and George Clifton. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Ann Goeller of St. Peters, MO; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday December 9, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Theodore F. Machnik officiating. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery with military graveside honors. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
