Glenn Shaeffer

Glenn R. Shaeffer, 89 of Circleville and formerly of Williamsport, died March 16, 2013 at Pickaway Manor. He was born on May 7, 1923 in Pickaway County, the son of John and Cora (Crawford) Shaeffer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran; retired from DuPont in 1982, loved to attend car shows, showing off his 1962 Chevrolet and was an avid bingo player. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Calvin, Dwight and Bob; 3 sisters, Helen Whitten, Minnie Steinhauser and Glenna Steinhauser, his twin. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Leona (Deatley) Shaeffer; son, Terry (Patsy) Shaeffer; daughter, Connie (Joe) Barthen; grandchildren, Kristie (Christian) Steck, Sarah (Ryan) Walters, Frank Barthen, Adam (Amber) Barthen and Kaci Barthen; great grandchildren, Reed, Sydnee, Garrett, Savannah, Gracie, Ella and Max; many nieces and nepehews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 20, 2013 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery with Amvets graveside honors. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
