Glenn Roy Yaple, 63, best known as G.R., passed away on January 21, 2025. He was born June 20, 1961, to Glenn and Lissa Yaple. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Anita; his children Gina and Russell; granddaughters Elle and Cora; sister and brother-in-law Beth and Ray McGuffey; and many cousins and friends.
G.R. graduated from Circleville High School in 1979 and then attended the Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute where he met Anita. They married in 1982 and settled in Circleville. G.R. happily farmed alongside his father, both acting as great stewards of the land, all while being a stay-at-home dad to raise Gina and Russell. He always knew he received a great gift to be with them throughout their early childhoods.
G.R. was an original member of the Westfall Livestock 4-H motorcycle club. He enjoyed taking off on his motorcycle for weeklong trips, traveling scenic backroads, and seeing rural America with family and friends.
As a huge advocate for best practices in agriculture and sustainability, G.R. loved the land and nature: animals, birds, rocks, plants, sticks… all were precious to him. He hunted arrowheads with his mother Lissa on the family farm, having a gentle competition of who found the more perfect arrowhead. Mid-spring he could be found walking the woods at his home in search of the elusive morel mushrooms that he so loved.
G.R. was registered as an organ donor, and his final act of giving was fulfilled.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, from 1 – 4 p.m., at Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N Court St, Circleville, OH. A prayer service will be held Monday, January 27, at 10 a.m., at Wellman’s, with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery immediately following.
