Guy Victor Tatman, 82, of Circleville, departed from this life crossing the great divide November 3, 2007 in Berger Hospital with a room full of family members at his bed. He was born January 31, 1925 to Jasper and Janie (Arledge) Tatman at So. Bloomingville, OH. He graduated from Benton Scenic H.S. in 1944. On November 2, 1946 he married his longtime friend, Carol and completed 61 years of a good married life until death caused the part. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Ada and Ivan Brown, brother Forrest and son-in-law Gary Oblinger. Surviving is one sister Mildred (Woodrow) Fetherolf of Logan; daughter Elaine Oblinger of Lakeland, FL; son Bryan (Cathy) Tatman of Kingston; 6 grandchildren Shelli (Robert) Hirtner, Sherri (Sam) Nickoloff, Gary Oblinger II, Andy Oblinger, Janice (Shadrick) Paris and Rebecca (Chris) Lewis; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; 2 very special God children Willie Davis and Martha Shepherd and several nieces and nephews. Through the years Guy had a number of jobs from farming to Columbia Gas, bus driving, 13 years at Dupont, a propane gas business and last backhoe and trucking. He enjoyed accomplishments and satisfactory jobs completed. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday November 7, 2007 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Rev. Douglas Dowson and Rev. Dan Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary U.M.C. Crusaders S.S. Class, Laurelville Food Pantry or Laurel Hills U.M.C. Trustee Fund.
