Harold Roger Arledge was born in Circleville, OH on August 24, 1942, the son of the late Walter and Minnie (Jenkins) Arledge. He died July 8, 2011 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth (Tomlinson) Arledge, daughter, Lisa (Clark) Arledge Powell of Dublin; son, Ryan (Shelly) Arledge of Ashville; grandchildren, Grant Powell, C.J. and Lauren Arledge; sister, Rita (Tom) Strawser of Circleville and brother, Walt (Donna) Arledge of Chicago. He was a graduate of Circleville High School Class of 1960, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1964 and graduated with a Bachelors degree in business from Franklin University in 1969. The local businessman was the founder and owner/operator of Royal Car Wash. Previously he owned the Arledge Music Company and was the co-owner of The Launderette. He also previously worked at RCA and Dupont in Circleville as well as Owens Illinois in Columbus. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that instead donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America at www.ccfa.org in memory of Harold Arledge in honor of his grandson, Grant Powell.
