Harriet Kaylor, 87, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 peacefully surrounded by her favorite cats. She was born on October 5, 1926 in Nashville, Tennessee to James and Eunice (Ward) Beard. She was a graduate of Spring Hill High School, Columbia College of business, attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois. Harriet loved all animals and belonged to several animal rights organizations. She worked the local Humane Society Hotline telephone for 11 years, was a den mother for cub scouts, St. Philips Altar Guild and president of Business and Professional Women. Harriet retired after 35 years from Jefferson Smurfit Corp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, James and Robert and sisters, Dorothy and Irene. Harriet is survived by her children, Michael (Dorothea (Becker) Kaylor of Villa Hills, Kentucky and Suzanne Kaylor of Circleville, by a sister-in-law and best friend, Mary Beard of Pascougla, Mississippi and by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Harriet will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Philips Church with Rev. Kathryn Clausen officiating.
