Harry David Styers of Circleville, Ohio passed from this life to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1937 in Circleville, Ohio to Harry Austin and Dorothy Smith Styers. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Austin and Dorothy Smith Styers; sisters Marilyn Stauffer and Ruth Heffner; Brother Jeffrey Styers; Brother and Sister- in-Law, Paul and June Eitel; Brother- In-Law Maynard Burns; son, David Allen Styers; Daughter-In-Law Amy Styers and Nephews Tom Eitel, Doug Heffner and Tyler Burns.
Harry will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly Knecht Styers; Daughter Pastor Jennifer Styers; Grandchildren Zachary Styers and Maria Styers; Sister Ann Rooker and her husband Jim; Sister-in-law Ruth Ann Styers and Helen Burns; Nephews Tim Burns and his wife, Jenny, Mark Rooker and Jeffrey Styers; Nieces Rita Heffner, Elizabeth West and her husband Chuck; Elizabeth Styers and Kevin and also many beloved great nieces and nephews.
Harry was born into a loving Christian family where faith, service and values were the cornerstone of his life. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1955 and was an avid golfer. Shortly after graduation he met the love of his life, Beverly Knecht, and they were married soon afterward and raised two beautiful children.
Harry joined the Ohio Air National Guard at Lockbourne Army base and was deployed overseas for several military assignments. Upon returning from his military duties, he worked for General Mills for 31 years until his retirement. In retirement, Harry enjoyed antiquing with his wife, vacationing with family, playing Euchre, spending time with loved one and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
He will be remembered as a man of faith who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Harry modeled the love, kindness and generosity of a belief that was deeply important to him especially in his later years of life.
Visiting hours are at Wellman’s Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, March 12, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A celebration of life service will be held at Crossroads Church, located at 5879 Tarlton Road on Wednesday, March 13, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Crossroads Church, or to your favorite charity in memory of Harry. Thank you and God Bless.
