Helen Pauline Cook, 93, of Circleville died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Brown Memorial. She was born on May 27, 1921 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late J. Austin and Electa A. (Notter) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William L. Cook, son W. Alex Cook, two brothers; Steve and James Johnson, two sisters; Della McKean and Adelaide Waldenmaier, sister-in-law, Grace Johnson, brother-in-law, Wally Waldenmaier. Helen is survived by her daughters Lindsey D. (Robert) Susor and Ann Cook, daughter-in-law, Peggy Cook, grandchildren; William Randall “Randy” (Michelle) Cook, Dr. Tracy (David) Crouse, Kathleen Susor Cummings, Robert Alexander ”Alex” (Ashley Masset) Susor, great grandchildren; Jason, Bradley, and Megan Crouse, William L.(#1), Nathaniel J.(#2), and Andrew R. (#3) Cummings, Rachael Cook and by several nieces and nephews. After being a stay at home wife and mother for many years, she became associated with Dale DeLong Insurance Agency for 22 ½ years. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church and served as a choir member for many years, and active member of United Methodist women (serving as President and Circle chairman), active member of Circleville Chapter #90 Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, serving as Worthy Matrons of the Chapter, President of the District, and Grand Matron of Grand Chapter of Ohio. After she retired from working she was a volunteer for the Red Cross and Circle of Caring. Pauline enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and playing Scrabble. She loved to have her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren come to visit her in the family home where she resided since moving to Circleville after World War II. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Berger Hospice, Community United Methodist Church or Circleville EMS.
