Helen R. Eitel, 86, of Circlevill, died November 25, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 28, 1923 in Pickaway Twp., Pickaway County, the daughter of Harley and Mabel (McCloy) Speakman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dan L. Eitel, on January18, 1999. Also, preceded in death by brothers, David, Marshall and Delbert Speakman; sisters, Juanita Speakman, Virginia Morris, Donna Wallace and Jerri Sines. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Drexel) Poling of Circleville; five sons, Larry Eitel and Bob (Sandy) Eitel of Circleville, Jeff (Janet) Eitel of Orient, Myron Keith (Jennifer) Eitel of Washington Court House and Randy (Jackie) Eitel of Circleville; nine grandchildren, Kim (Erik) Ekis of Dublin, Karen (Mike) Meuller of Coshoction, Angie (Todd) Ruff of Circleville, Stacey (Stephanie) Eitel of Circleville, Emily Eitel of Circleville, Jeff (Christine) of Orient, and Jason Eitel of Circleville, Brandon (Shawna) Eitel of Mt. Sterling and Colton Eitel of Washington Court House; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Wright of Lewis Center and Norma Pollock of Orient; a brother, Wayne Speakman of Grove City; brother-in-law, Carroll Sines of Mt. Sterling and several nieces, nephews and many friends. After graduating from Atlanta High School in 1941, she resided in Muhlenberg Township for more than 57 years. After her five oldest children completed school, she went to work at Westfall High School as a cook and retired after 25 years at the age of 73. In October of 2005 she moved to her Pickaway Manor Village apartment and enjoyed living in Circleville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Rev. Carol Ann Davis officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Wright Poling Dog Shelter through Partners for Paws, P.O. Box 282, Circleville, OH 43113-0282.
