Herbert Poling, Sr

Herbert E. “Pete” Poling, Sr., 83, of Circleville, died September 17, 2012 at Circleville Care and Rehab. He was born April 11, 1929 in Circleville, the son of Orlando and Sarah (Hettinger) Poling. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Super Duper. He was preceded in death by his parents; god parents, David & Goldie Blankenship; sisters, Catherine and Rosemary Poling and brothers, Jasper, Junior, Whitey, Chester, Alfred, Albert and Daniel. He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Davis) Poling; children, Herbert (Cathy) Poling, Jr., Garry Poling, Beverly (Joe) Donaldson, Jeff (Ellen) Poling, Jerry Lee Poling, Samantha (Scott) Stegall, Scott (Heather) Poling, Jerry (Sandy) Lemaster, Loretta Kay (Terry) Spencer and Ellen (Jeff) Poling; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and sister, Florence Walls. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday September 19, 2012 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Heartland Hospice.
