Howard G. “Hodgie” Dade, 64 of Columbus, OH, went to be with the Lord on Thursday May 5, 2011. He was born on November 24, 1946 to Naomi Dade and the late Emmitt Dade. He was preceded in death by former spouse, Candace “Candy” Dade. Hodgie graduated from Circleville High in 1966. He played football and was named 2nd team All American, All Ohio, S.C.O.L Champs. He enjoyed fishing, skating and dancing. He owned and operated Dade Shoe Repair in Columbus, OH. He leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Candace Dade of Chillicothe, OH and Leslie Vo Dade of Lancaster, OH; grandson, Demetrius Dade; former wife and caregiver, Jign Xing Wu. He also leaves 3 sisters, Geraldine (George) Quinn, Carolyn Dade (Charles) Brazil and Brenda Dade; 2 brothers, Gerald (Cheryl) Dade and Steven Dade; many loving nieces and nephews; and special friend Hong Vo and among all he loved his family and his grandson, Demetrius. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday May 10, 2011 at the 2nd Baptist Church, 130 W. Mill St. Circleville, with Pastor Charles Ferguson officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
