Jacob Nathaniel Applegate, 14, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was born March 21, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Teays Valley High School as a Freshman but spent many years at New Hope Christian Academy. He attended Circleville First Baptist Church and had professed his belief in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
Jacob loved swimming, basketball, biking and spending time in the outdoors. He had a passion for computers and was the family’s electronics and computer guru. Jacob enjoyed helping others and participated in the Kentucky Changers Mission Trip where he actively lived out his faith to ‘serve one another’. In keeping with Jacob’s loving spirit, his lungs, kidneys, and liver were donated in the hope that others may live. Though he died much too young he left a lasting imprint on those around him and made the world a better place to the people he met.
Jacob is survived by his parents Scott and Susan (Leatherwood) Applegate; and his sister Ella of Ashville. He also leaves his grandparents, Edwin and Dorene Leatherwood also of Ashville; Jane and Randy Christianson of Ryland, KY; and Cheryl Applegate of Cincinnati. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Viewing for family, friends, and the community will be held at Wellman’s Funeral Home in Circleville on Wednesday, November 7th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. The funeral will be held at Circleville First Baptist Church, 1540 N Court Street, Circleville, OH on Thursday, November 8th at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to Wellman Funeral Home for funeral expenses in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
