James Powell Sr.

James Powell, Sr., 78, of New Straitsville passed away on January 7, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1946 in Mobile, AL to C.W. and Mildred Powell. He always enjoyed sitting under a tree, drinking his coffee and enjoyed his family time. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl (Thompson) Powell and siblings Alice, Nancy, June and Wanda. James is survived by his children James D. (Sandy) Powell II and Deirdre Thompson; grandchildren Kazuya Powell, Jordyn and Haleigh Parker and by brothers Don and Bill Nicholson. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
