Jean Dolores (Jellison) Howley, age 98 of Circleville went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2024 peacefully surrounded by her family at Pickaway Manor. She was born on May 31, 1926 in Coraopolis, PA daughter of the late Rudolph I. and Nancy Jane (Clawson) Jellison. Preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Howley. They were married June 13, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Coraopolis, PA. She is survived by her children Paula Jean Howley of Las Vegas, NV, Mary (Buzz) Buskirk of Ashville, OH, and John Howley (April Grube) of Circleville; grandchildren Brooke Buskirk (Krista Morgan) of South Bloomfield and Makayla (Shawn) Wallace of Canal Winchester; great grandsons Skylar Morgan and X’Zavier Rawls of South Bloomfield, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and by dear friend Shirley Lake. Jean worked for Westinghouse Electric Corp from 1944 to 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA. Once they relocated to Circleville she worked at Prairie Lanes in Circleville. She retired from Berger Hospital in 1988 and went on to become a Berger Hospital volunteer, Berger Gift Shop volunteer, Red Cross Volunteer, Knights of Columbus Bingo and fish fry volunteer, Election Poll volunteer, served on the Circle of Caring, Faith in Action Council and on the Pickaway Health Services Board of Trustees. Jean also served as President of the Associates of Council of Catholic Women for Province of Cincinnati; President of the Colombus Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and President of the Southern Deanery Council of Catholic Women. Jean was an active member of St. Joseph’s Altar Rosary Society and served as Census Secretary for 12 years. A special thank you to the people at Pickaway Manor and Heartland Hospice for the tender care they gave to Jean in the last months of her life. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at Wellman Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. with wake service at 7:00. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice.
