Jean Leatherwood

Jean Iris Purcell Cline-Leatherwood, age 92, of Ashville, Ohio, died September 4, 2011. She was born July 17, 1919 in Scioto Township, Pickaway County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Thomas and Alice Furniss Purcell. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of Ashville. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Emerson Hartley Cline in 1977 and Guy Hoyt Leatherwood in 1997; her parents, Thomas and Alice Purcell; two brothers, John Addison and Thomas Wright Purcell and one sister, Donna Mae Ward. She is survived by one daughter, Susan (David) Brindle of Concord, North Carolina; one son, Thomas (Linda) Cline of Hampton, Virginia; one step son, Ed (Doreen) Leatherwood of Ashville, Ohio; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; and one sister, Nina Rose Small of E. Tawas, Michigan. A funeral service will be held at Wellman Funeral Home, Ashville, Ohio, at 1:00 p.m. on September 8, 2011 with Rev. Ty Myers officiating. Internment will be in Reber Hill Cemetery following the service. Calling hours at the funeral home will be at noon prior to the funeral. A reception for friends and family will be held at Zion Methodist Church following the burial.
