Jerry W. Vanderpool, 68, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday January 5, 2011 at Riverside Hospital. He was born March 16, 1942 in Portsmouth, the son of John and Florence (Dodridge) Vanderpool. He was a US Navy Veteran, member of Southern Ohio Giant Pumpkin Growers, Circleville Pumpkin Growers and retired construction worker for Clear Span Buildings. Jerry loved fishing, hunting, gardening and was an avid football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Johnny and Stanley Vanderpool; sister, Shirley Vanderpool and son-in-law, Jessie Howard. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn (Dollison) Vanderpool; children, Anthony William (Shannon) Vanderpool and Patricia Ann Howard; former-son-in-law, Kevin (Sherry) Garrett; grandchildren, Kevin Michael (Jessica Lutz) Garrett, Tracy Allen (Lindsey Hammond) Garrett, Seth Lee Garrett, Jessica Ann Garrett and Tricia Ann Howard; great granddaughter, Shelby Marie Hammond; sisters, Betty (Harold) Crawford, Judy (Bob) Leming and Debbie (Les) Casto and brothers, Rick (Annette) and David Vanderpool. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 11, 2011 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
