Jo Ann O’Dell Fox, of Circleville, Ohio passed away on January 23, 2015. She was born in 1935 in Richwood, WV, the youngest daughter of Ira and Grace O’Dell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 44 years, Richard E. Fox, who died in 1999, and two sisters, Bertha Shaver and Edith Smith of Richwood, WV. She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Rick), wife Ellen, and their children Richard and Katherine(Katie), of Charlotte, NC and Bradley (Brad), wife Lynn, and their children Elizabeth and Emily of Chapel Hill, NC; sisters Helen Clark and Thelma Woodring of Columbus, Ohio and Mary (husband Farrell) Foley of Greenville, NC; her in-laws, Frankie Hovatter, Melvin and Helen Fox, all of Circleville, Ohio and Ruth Fox of Grove City, Ohio and their families. She is also survived by Kenny Welsh, her very special friend, and his daughters Paula Leachman (husband Bryce), Tammie Johnson (husband Bill), and Krista Mui (husband Pete). Kenny’s love, care, and compassion were her gifts from God. Jo Ann was a 50 year member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and worked as a teacher’s assistant at Brooks-Yates School for 25 years. She has more recently been a volunteer at Pickaway Senior Center, Lutheran Food Bank of Lancaster, and Berger Hospital. Jo Ann loved to travel; visiting Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, and Turkey. She also enjoyed having coffee with her friends, golfing, line dancing, and exercising at the Pickaway Senior Center. The family will receive friends at the Wellman Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held at the Wellman Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pickaway Senior Center.
