Joan Lucas

Joan R. Lucas, 91, of Circleville passed away on June 16, 2017. She was born on December 17, 1925 in Circleville to Chester D. and Ruth N. (Morris) Wertman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings John, Chet, Darroll, Beverly and Donnie Wertman. She was a 1941 Graduate of Washington Township High School and was their Miss Pumpkin Show Representative, was an avid bowler, loved gardening and antiques. Joan is survived by her daughters Beverly (Frank) Welsh, Jennifer (Gary) Combs, grandchildren Richard (LeRosa) Welsh, Melissa (Brad) Williams, Kelcey (John Hummell) Combs, Bryant (Marie) Welsh, Jed (Paige) Combs, 2 great grandchildren Paisley Welsh and Kylie Williams, sister-in-laws Carol and Marian Wertman and by special nephew Gary Lee Wetman, several nieces and nephews and by special friends Thommie Allured and Louise Matthews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Dr. Doyne Wiggins officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery.
