John Butcher

John F. Butcher, 92, of Circleville, died January 2, 2008 at Pickaway Manor. He was born April 5, 1915 in Mineral Wells, WV, the son of Harry and Rae (Archer) Butcher. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Pickaway Lodge #23 F & AM and Pickaway Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Franklin Butcher; 1 grandson, Rob Butcher and sister, Eleanor Ott. He is survived by his wife, Anna Pearl (Hersman) Butcher; children, retired Major General USMC, Bobby Gene Butcher of CA, Connie S. Barthelmas of KY, Thomas Edward (Gail Ann) Butcher of GA and Carol Ann Fisher of Circleville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Sara Lou Coors of WV; daughter-in-law, Alice Butcher of SC and brother-in-law, Harold Ott of WV. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 5, 2008 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Barry Burns officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, WV. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
