John Sayre

John E. “Spike” Sayre, 60, of Amanda, died February 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1951 in Lancaster, the son of Rudy and Mary (Young) Sayre. He was a 1972 graduate of Teays Valley High School, senior master technician for Ford Motor Company, founder of Rock Bottom Country, Rock Bottom Sound, member of Rolling Thunder and a music enthusiast since the age of 13. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Susan K. (Temple) Sayre and brothers, Larry and Gary Sayre. He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Helsel) Sayre; children, Sam (fiancée Samantha) Sayre, Ed Sayre, Adam, Kevin, Amber Mather and Kathleen Moore and 13 grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday February 17, 2012 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Reber Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in John’s name.
