John E. Swackhamer, 67, of Circleville, died December 26, 2012. He was born February 17, 1945 in Laurelville the son of Earl E. and Mildred (Kline) Swackhamer. He was a 1963 graduate of Laurelville High School and attended Sheet Metal Apprentice School. He worked for Circleville Metal Works and later his amazing ability to design, fabricate and engineer led him to start Swack’s Metal Shop. He was a member of Roundtown Cruisers and enjoyed his many 1955 Chevy’s which he had restored. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy and his wife Shirley. He is survived by his son Brent (Stephanie) Swackhamer of Laurelville, step-son Dennie (Paula) Bass of Circleville, mother of his son Karen Wiget, 5 grandchildren Trevor and Brayden Swackhamer, Karlee, Draven and Maxwell Bass, brother Mark “Mike” (Brenda) Swackhamer, sisters Judy (Mike) DeLong, Cheryl (Mike) Shaw, Bev (Bill) DeLong all of Laurelville and Joyce (Jesse) Newman of Circleville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 29, 2012 at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday and 11-1 Saturday at the funeral home
