Lane Woods

Lane Edward Woods was born in Huntington West Virginia to Billie Jo and John Woods on October 07, 1950. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 4th 2025 at the age of 75. Lane is survived by his wife Kathy, 9 children Lana, Issac, Jacob, Logan, Kelly, Philip, Sarah, Liz, Alex, 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He loved them all in his own special way and was proud of his family. Lane was a man of few words but his presence was seen and felt. Lane proudly served in the US Air force from 1967 to 1971, a Vietnam veteran, was ranked E-4. He retired from the Huntington District U.S Army Corp of Engineers after 28 years, 8 months & 23 days, he was known for his dedication, loyalty, dependability and technical competence. He was awarded COMMANDER'S AWARD FOR CIVILIAN SERVICE, his outstanding efforts as a Civil Engineering Technician for Design Branch of Engineering and recognized for Construction Division, He provided continued support to Project Delivery Teams preparing CADD drawings for various projects. Lane was a recognized Corps leader in developing BIM Building Information Modeling). His career efforts will serve the Corps of Engineers for years to come. Lane enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, bike riding and had a knack for collecting knives, flashlights and various other gadgets. He will be remembered for the love he gave and the love he left behind.
