**Obituary: Laquita Wagner**

Laquita Wagner, 91, of Circleville, passed away on March 25, 2025. Born on April 9, 1933, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James and Kathryn (Meade) Preston. Laquita was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church, where she joyously sang in the choir. Her passions included mushroom hunting, fishing, and playing bingo. In the late 1960s, she earned the title of Ladies Club Champion at Upper Lands Down. She was a huge Ohio State Football fan. A devoted family member, she cherished her time spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Laquita was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Thomas Wagner Jr., who passed away on May 3, 2020; her son, Tony Wagner; and her brother, Bill Preston. She co-owned and worked at Daily’s Meat Market for several years, contributing significantly to the community. Laquita is survived by her children, Tim (Lora) Wagner and Tracy L. (Dee) Wagner; daughter-in-law Brenda Wagner; and a host of beloved grandchildren: Michael (Danielle) Wagner, Mandy (Gabe) Carpenter, Casey (Becky) Wagner, Jordy (Nicole) Wagner, Hogan (Monica) Wagner, Erica Wagner, and Chelsea (Angel) Wagner. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Tailor (Scott) Ferrie, Tori (Mason) Dunn, Josie Wagner, Brooke Carpenter, Mason Carpenter, Alyvia Wagner, Ada Wagner, Millie Wagner and Elsie Wagner, along with great-great-grandchildren Jenna, Joey, Adley, and Brooks. Additionally, she is survived by her brothers, James and Charles Preston. Laquita’s warmth, love for her family, and dedication to her community will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville, followed by burial at Forest Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
