Larry E. Dotson, 61, passed away Monday June 1, 2009 at Berger Hospital, Circleville. He was born April 5, 1948 at Cedar, WV and was a 1966 graduate of Phelps High School, Phelps, KY. He was the son of the late Earl P. and Lucille (Mounts) Dotson. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Emma (Daugherty) Dotson; daughter, Kimberly (John) Carroll of New Holland; son, Joseph Dotson of Circleville; 2 sisters, Brenda Gail (Ed) Blair of Paintsville, KY and Susan (Sid) Lester of Phelps, KY; brother, David Randall (Wanda) Dotson of Phelps, KY and a devoted mother-in-law, Ivory “Ma” Daugherty, who currently resides in the home of Larry and Emma and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who love him dearly. Larry was a retired, 20 years service, U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran; Ohio correctional officer for RCI, Lucasville, OH, Orient Training Academy and currently employed by Ohio Job Family Services of Columbus, OH. Larry was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and His Country. He believed in the American flag and displayed it proudly. He believed in all the American flag symbolizes and it’s true meaning to America and US Military Veterans. He was an avid supporter of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Larry will be sadly missed by all. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 4, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, Southshore, KY with military graveside honors.
