Larry Shumaker, 54, of New Holland passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. He was born on December 2, 1956 in Greenfield to Earl and Ruth (Curry) Shumaker. He was a 1976 graduate of Greenfield McClain High School, worked 26 years at Hutamachi as Printing Room Manager in New Vienna, 5 years with Crane Fencing as Customer Care/Sales Rep and a year at Scioto Valley Sweeper as a Manager before coming ill. Mr. Shumaker was a volunteer for the Homeless Shelter and was active with Downtown Business Association.
Mr. Shumaker was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Nancy Curry, Earl and Dorothy Shumaker and an uncle, James D. Curry.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his life partner, Randy Taylor, one son, Randy (Allison) Taylor, grandsons, Cameron and Levi Shumaker, sisters, Susan Stuckey and Betty (Dave) Howland, step children, Ben (Jennifer) Taylor and Meghann Taylor and by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Shumaker will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
