Leona Shaeffer

Leona I. Shaeffer, 88, of Circleville and formerly of Williamsport died on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Pickaway Manor. She was born on January 30, 1927 in Adams County, the daughter of James and Flora (Boldman) Deatley. Leona was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Checkers. She is survived by son, Terry (Patsy) Shaeffer; daughter, Connie (Joe) Barthen; grandchildren, Kristie (Christian) Steck, Sarah (Ryan) Walters, Frank Barthen, Adam (Amber) Barthen and Kaci (Brad) Kushinski; great grandchildren, Reed, Sydnee, Garrett, Savannah, Gracyn, Ella, Max and Kendall. In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Glenn R. Shaeffer, who passed away March 16, 2013, a sister, Betty Rowland and a brother, Delbert Deatley. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will follow in Springlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11.
