Linda Huhman

Linda Louise (Wright) Huhman, 72, of Williamsport, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2024 at Berger Hospital, Circleville, Ohio following a short illness. She was born on March 16, 1952 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, a daughter of the late Dorriss and Faye (Huddleston) Wright. Linda joined the Catholic faith and, on March 10, 1973, was united in marriage at the Newman Center in Columbia, Missouri to William H. “Bill” Huhman who survives at the home.

Linda was a 1970 graduate of Tuscumbia High School. She and Bill met when they worked together in 1972. After working as a secretary for several years, Linda entered the medical field. She worked both in large regional hospitals and in doctors’ clinics in several locations in Missouri, as well as in central Nebraska and in Ohio, as Bill pursued his career in mill management. She became a registered histology technician and an LPN. She developed environmental allergies and chronic back pain and had to leave her medical work in the late 1990s, after which she started a successful medical transcription business at home. She and Bill sold produce, baked goods, jams and honey from their hives at farmers’ markets for 15 years. 

Linda was also active in community and church activities, serving as president of the service sorority Beta Sigma Phi, parish council president, Pre-Cana marriage counselor, and Sunday school teacher. She and Bill fostered several children. Her steadily declining health gradually led to her inability to continue her participation in activities outside the home. She was quietly proud of all that she and Bill were able to accomplish in life and the friendships formed. 

Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, and travel. She loved children, animals, and her wide circle of friends. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Buckeyes and the Missouri Tigers. She enjoyed painting pictures, taking photos, cooking, playing cards, and visiting with friends. 

In addition to her husband Bill, Linda is survived by their children Craig Anthony Huhman and Jessica Elizabeth (Huhman) Marcum; nine grandchildren; brothers Dustin (Amy Ireland) Wright of Omaha Nebraska, and Terry Wright of Eldon, Missouri; sister-in-law Tere Anne (Smith) Wright; brothers-in-law Mike, Stan, Sid and John Huhman; nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, John Christopher Huhman and Nathaniel David Huhman, and her brother Mitchell Eric Wright. 

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. January 9, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Circleville, Ohio, with the Rev. Ramon Owera officiating. Following Mass friends are invited to join in a continuing celebration of Linda’s life. 

A memorial celebration of her life is being planned for a later date in St. Elizabeth, Missouri.
