Louise Marion Lambert, born Feb. 4, 1919 in Kenton, Ohio, the youngest of six
children, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 just hours short of her 96th birthday.
Daughter of Fredrick and Molly Wolfe, Louise was raised on a farm in rural
northwest Ohio. She worked hard on the farm while excelling in school.
Following graduation from high school, she moved from the farm to the city of
Columbus, Ohio where she attended and graduated from Bliss Secretarial
school. She applied her skills in various jobs in the Columbus area in both
private and government sectors. Married in 1942, she moved briefly to
Mississippi with her husband Monty during a war time posting, then returned to
Columbus. The couple had three children: Roger (b. 1943), Terry (b. 1947) and
Craig (b.1949). In 1953, the family moved to Circleville, Ohio for a new job
opportunity. The couple later separated and divorced in the mid '50s. Louise
stayed in Circleville and began working at the General Electric Lamp Plant in
secretarial and administrative roles. She was well liked and respected, becoming
executive assistant to the Plant Manager and a key member of other operations.
She retired from General Electric in 1984, remaining in Circleville among her
friends and in the community that had become her home, including membership
in the First Presbyterian Church, activities in several bowling leagues, and friends
in downtown business life. In her later years, she moved to an independent senior living apartment where she continued many of her activities although she eventually gave up bowling and driving at 92. She continued her passion for sports, especially college
football, having shepherded her son Craig through high school sports
accomplishments at Circleville High School leading to a scholarship and more
record breaking sports achievements at Cornell University. She never lost her
friendly, helpful demeanor and her inquiring mind. Louise is survived by her son Roger (Rae) of Dublin, Ohio; daughter-in-law Marguerite (Craig) of Reston, VA.; grandchildren Kathryn and James (Eileen) Lambert of Washington, D.C., and Douglas (Kate) Lambert of Vandalia, Ohio; and also special friends Angie Stauffer, Trixie Kawasaki, and Lisa Harrison of Circleville, Ohio. She will be greatly missed. Luv ya’ Mom. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 134 E.Mound Street,Circleville, Ohio 43113.
