Margaret “ Dolly” Thompson 82, of Williamsport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday October 15, 2014. She was born August 21, 1932 in Circleville, Ohio to Ernest and Hazel (Arledge) Weaver. She attended St. Johns and Clearcreek Community Churches. She was also a former member of Eastern Star, Helped to develop Hands for Disabled, and was an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. As a young woman, Margaret worked in her fathers furniture store, Weavers Furniture on Main Street in Circleville. As an adult she and her Husband, Marvin Thompson started Thompsons Floats, which has been well known for years in the southern Ohio area for their elaborate floats that have been seen in local parades for over 40 years. She was one of the founding fathers of Sulphur Springs Festival in 1971 now know as Deercreek Dam Days. She was an active member of the Ohio Festivals. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson have received many awards through out the decades including The Ned Harden Ambassador Award for representing Pickaway County. Margaret and her husband along, with raising their own children were Foster parents and hosted exchange students.


She is preceded in death by a daughter Vickie Imler and siblings Ruth Lutz, Betty Clifton, Patty Reed, Robert Weaver, Wilma ‘Lynn’ White and Jim Weaver. Margaret is survived by her loving husband Marvin Thompson, of 64 years and children, Debbie (Ron) Fraley, Dwight Imler, Shirley (Ralph) Smith, Brad (Dawn) Thompson. Grandchildren, Bente(Tony) Baldwin, Michelle Fraley, Shaun (Crystal) Fraley, Josh (Kama)Kellough, Lindsey, McKensie, and Taylor Smith, Dylan, Cody, and Corey Thompson. Great-Grandchildren are Claudia Kellough, Kinley and Jake Whited, Kaleb and Ava Baldwin. Along with special family members Eric Reed, Debbie Thrasher and Alejandro Garces.

Margaret’s surviving siblings are Doris Reeser, Richard Weaver, Larry Weaver, and Janet Hayes.

Services will be held on Monday October 20th at 11:00 am at the Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville, Ohio. Presiding pastor will be Ted Davis. Burial will follow in Hitler Ludwig Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday October 19th from 2-7PM. Memorial contributions are being excepted at the Local Alzheimer’s association’s though Berger Hospital or Berger Hospice.
