Margie Seymour

Margie M. Seymour of Laurelville, Ohio passed this life on May 15, 2014 at Pickaway Manor in Circleville, Ohio after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Margie was born July 22, 1923 in Ray, Ohio. She was the daughter of Harley and Myrtle (Graves) Welch who preceded her in death. Margie was a loving wife and mother. She met the love of her life when a friend that worked with her at the Shoe Factory in Chillicothe Ohio introduced them. She married Robert J. Seymour on June 28, 1947 and was close to celebrating 67 years together. She devoted her life to her husband and children, especially her son Brian who was in a horrible car accident in 1978. She became his caregiver and best friend. They had a very special bond. Her special smile that lit up a room will be sadly missed. She was a homemaker, loved her flowers, an excellent cook, and spent many years working on genealogy to find her Welch and Graves ancestors. She leaves behind her husband Robert J. Seymour, a daughter Diana (Bob) Shaffer, sons Michael and Brian Seymour, a sister Virginia Barnhart along with several in laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Irene Bales and brother Eugene Welch. A private service was held at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville, Ohio with burial in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi, Ohio. A special thank you to the staff at Pickaway Manor, the staff at Heartland Hospice, and to Portsmouth Ambulance for taking Brian to say his final goodbye to his “Mama”.
