Marguerite Grambo, 96, of Laurelville, passed the evening of Friday, August 16, 2024. Born February 5, 1928, she was a formidable character known for getting her way, and she passed away in the comfort and security of her home, surrounded by people who loved her dearly...just as she wanted.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry R. Grambo, her daughter Sharon Grambo, her son John Grambo, her son-in-law David White, her brother Bob (Jessie) Jones, her sister Wanda Kendall, her grandson Davey, and her great-grandson DJ.
Marguerite is survived by her daughters Linda (David) White and Christine Quaintance, sons Harry (Charlene) Grambo and Denny (Lisa) Grambo, daughter-in-law Debbie Grambo, sister Fern McIntyre, over 20 grandchildren, over 60 great-grandchildren, nearly 20 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless life-long family friends who knew her as Grandma Bo.
She was an avid sports fan who loved her Buckeyes and her Reds. She was also a familiar face for many young athletes as she attended hundreds of games, matches, and meets, cheering on not only her own children and grandchildren, but dozens of others kids over the many years she remained involved. She was very proud to have been a coach herself for granddaughters Vickie and Sharon's softball team. And she herself bowled into her nineties.
It is impossible to summarize the impact of her 96 years because she meant so much to so many. She left us countless memories, stories, and lessons. She achieved her greatest goal by ensuring that her children and grandchildren had a better start in life than she or her husband were given. She gifted us with steadfast support, love, humor, and lots of food. She inspired us to be stronger, work harder, and love fiercely. She will be missed beyond measure.
In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a formal service. Her family will be attendance the afternoon of Wednesday, August 21, 2024, when she laid to rest with her husband and children.
