Marilynn O. “Lynn” Roe, 61, of Circleville passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was born on September 26, 1953 in Middletown, Ohio to James B. and Helen (Messerschmidt) Miller. She was preceded in death by her father, James Miller. In addition to her mother, Helen Miller she is survived by her husband, James P. “Phil” Roe III, children; Hillary M. (Kelton) Kline and Jonathan L. (Amanda) Roe, sister; Nancy (Martin) Hillila, brothers; Thomas C. (Paula) miller and Benjamin Miller, grandchildren; Jack and Andrew Kline. Lynn graduated from Lebanon High School in 1972, obtained an Education degree with honors from The Ohio State University, and earned her Masters degree from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lynn met her husband, Phil, while attending Ohio State and married him in 1978. She began her teaching career in Lebanon, Ohio. After her marriage, she moved to Circleville, Ohio and spent the next thirty-two years teaching in the Logan Elm School District, retiring in 2008. As a teacher, she was actively involved in all aspects of her students’ education. Lynn was a dedicated member of the Circleville community, Salem United Methodist Church, the Pickaway County Historical Society, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Throughout her life, Lynn’s favorite pastimes revolved around spending time with her family and friends; traveling, cooking, and supporting them in their various activities. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Swann officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 11 until 1.
