Mary Russell

Mary Maxine (Nungester) Russell, 84, of Laurelville, went to be with Jesus February 28, 2010 with her family by her side. She was born July 28, 1925 to Albert and Flora Nungester. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Georgia Collier, Mildred Kelly and brothers Clarence, Harold, Charles and Fred. Mary attended Pleasant Hill Community Church most of her life and loved to witness for the Lord. She will be remembered for her loving and kind heart as well as her love for her family and most of all for Jesus. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Herbert “Alva” Russell, daughters Esriel Russell of Laurelville, Rose (Charles) Cordle of Ashville, Phyllis Hutchins of Adelphi and Belinda (James) Kerr of Laurelville; grandchildren Charles (Cassie) Cordle, Ryan (Noel) Cordle, Taylor Hutchins, Thomas, Jordan and Hannah Kerr; sisters Dorothy (Donald) Roe, Martha Hutchinson, and Norma (Norman) Poling, brother Roy Nungester, many nieces and nephews and special friend Amy. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 3, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Community Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Memorial contributions may be made to In Care Hospice.
