Mary B. Stahr, 92, of Laurelville, passed away May 13, 2009 at Pickaway Manor in Circleville. Mary was born April 29, 1917 in Marion Township, Hocking Co., to William and Mary Ellen (Disbennett) Huston. She was married to Vernie E. Stahr on April 29, 1939 and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Mary was a member of the South Perry United Methodist Church for 70 years, Laurel Valley Grange for 65 years, Pomona and State Grange, and Gideon Ladies Auxiliary. Mary is fondly remembered for being a good cook, homemaker, her homemade pies and working on their egg and chicken farm. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was helpful and kind to everyone and will be greatly missed by all those who love and admire her. Surviving are her husband, Vernie E. Stahr; daughter, Margaret (Harold) Karr; sons, Roy (Narcie) Stahr and Clayton (Beverly) Stahr all of Laurelville; grandchildren, Suellen (Craig) Riddle, Jeff (Deanna) Karr, Pam (Gary) Puckett, Shelah Stahr, Brian Stahr, Phillip (Chris) Stahr, and Todd (Melissa) Stahr; great grandchildren, Bree Riddle, Bryce (Joe) Snavely, Lyenya Riddle, Meashia, Caleb, Madison Stahr, Treaver and Shelby Karr and Natasha Puckett; great great grandchild, Brynn Snavely. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, great grandchildren, Kealee Puckett and Chelsey Karr, brothers, Irvin, Edward, Lester, Ted and infant Huston, sisters, Glenna Huston, Eva and Edith Carpenter, Hazel Kâ Miller, Jessie Stahr and Ruth Stiverson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday May 18, 2009 at the South Perry, U.M.C. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons.
