Max A. Spangler, 77, of Ashville, died July 18, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 3, 1934 in Circleville, the son of Russell and Helen (Barr) Spangler. He was retired from E.I. Dupont with 35 years of service. His passion was farming and he had a love of Belgium Draft Horses. He loved spending time with family, especially grandchildren and was an avid Buckeyes Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Nancy (Neff) Spangler. He is survived by his children, Gayla (Robert Starkey) Fisher of Middlebourne, WV, Brad (Ronda Walker) Spangler of Lancaster, Brenda (Steve) Paul of Circleville and Bret (Beth) Spangler of Topeka, KS; 9 grandchildren, James C. Barkwill, Julie Howard, Staci Spangler, Kaleigh and Zach Frazier, Laura Cochran, Hayden, Marissa and Megan Spangler; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Walt (Annabel) Spangler of Ashville; sisters, Olive Neff and Doris (Harvey) Seitz of Ashville and other family and close friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday July 23, 2012 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Reber Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
