Maynard Marshall

Maynard Marshall, 85, of Circleville died on Friday, May 9, 2014 in Columbus. He was born on June 11, 1928 in Pickaway County to Albert and Ina (Wolfe) Marshall. In his earlier years he worked at Pickaway Power Plant and Brown Implement. Maynard retired from Dupont and farming. He was a 1946 Walnut Township graduate, a member of Heber Lodge 501 F&Am, 32 degree mason and the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus. He enjoyed family vacations at Lake Cumberland for boating and water skiing. He also traveled the world with his loving wife, Velma, by visiting all the states in the United States as well as traveling abroad to London, Venice, Holland, Germany, and Austria. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma G. (Thomas) Marshall, son, Maynard Lynn Marshall, brother, Clarence Marshall, sister, Dorothea VanVelzer and by brother-in-laws, George Sipe and Bill VanVelzer. Maynard is survived by children, Karen (Terry) Hegarty of Harrisburg, Doug (Michelle) Marshall of Powell, grandchildren, Matthew (Mandy) Josh and Mikaela Marshall, Shannan, Tyler and Neal Hegarty, great grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Lance, Bryan and Jessie, brother, Gene (Barbara) Marshall, sister, Betty Sipe and by sister-in-law, Faye Marshall. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Elswick. Burial will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Accent Care for their wonderful assistance in care of their father as well as a special caregiver named Cheryl.
