Melvin C. Hunt passed away at home, on February 14, 2018.   He was 85 years old.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Van Fossan) Hunt; his parents Bryan and Lessie (Noble) Hunt; and sister, Virginia Stinard.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Steve Egan; son, Todd Hunt; grandchildren Brooke (Jack) Moats; Jarrod (Jenny) Egan; and Mitch Hunt.  He is also survived by great-grandchildren Drew, Mia and Allie Moats.  Melvin is also survived by a sister, Sue (Jack) Huffman; and brother, George Hunt, as well as many nieces and nephews. Melvin graduated from Laurelville High School, and served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955.  He was employed at the GE Lamp Plant and retired after 40 years of service in the maintenance department. In 1956, he married Phyllis, and they were married for nearly 56 years before her passing in 2012.   They enjoyed camping, square dancing, and raising their children in the Tarlton area.  After retirement, they resided in Circleville, traveled with friends, enjoyed winters in Florida, and seeing their grandchildren grow.  Calling hours will begin Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville at 12:00 noon, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm.   Burial will be immediately following in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
